Classes




	Materials for all classes must be purchased at Knit On! If you already have needles or other tools, those may be used in class. Unless otherwise noted, the cost of materials is not included in the fee. Most fees are for instruction only. Please call the shop to reserve your space in class. Class size is limited, so we ask that you pay ahead of time to ensure your attendance. Class fees are non-refundable if student cancels less than one week before class.

Dec. 31, 2012 - Christmas Stocking Trunk Show @@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@ Ongoing Classes Learn to Knit or Crochet/Student’s Choice with Sally Dixon Wednesdays at 6:30 pm Saturdays at 11:30 am Sally will take you through the basics of learning to knit and beyond in this series of classes. Take as many or as few classes as you need. In your very first class, you will learn to put stitches on your needles and begin to knit using the knit stitch and yarn over increases. In your next class, you will learn decreases and how to take your work from the needle to everyday use. This class has a rolling admission, so you can join at any time. Come for as many sessions as you wish! Already know how to knit, but just need help with a new project? This is the class for you. Students love this class and come week after week as they hone their knitting or crochet skills. FEE: $16 each for the first three class sessions, then $12 for each class session thereafter. New Classes Crochet By Numbers with Dina Bradford This class will be held again. Check back for new dates! Create beautiful pictures from any photograph or image with this easy crochet technique! Instructor Dina Bradford is one of only a few teachers in the US who is certified to teach Crochet By Numbers (CBN). In this class, you will learn how to read and execute a CBN pattern as you make a small project to learn the technique. Students will receive a personal pattern made from their own photograph. They may also choose any pattern from the Crochet By Numbers website to receive at no additional cost. Students should email their chosen photograph to Dina at least 4 days before the class. Photographs must be in jpg or gif format. FEE: $85 for instruction, practice pattern, personalized photo pattern ($50 value) and one pattern from the CBN website ($15 value). You will need an H crochet hook. You will purchase your other materials the day of class at Knit On! Students should learn single crochet before attending class. Baby Sweater, Hat & Booties with Marcie Brooks Scheduled by Appointment - Minimum 2 Students Surprise the babies in your life with this delightful outfit - baby sweater, hat and booties! Marcie’s classes are always fun and informative. Students should be able to cast on, knit, purl and bind off. FEE: $45 for instruction only. Materials to be purchased day of class. Bring size US 10.5 needles if you already have them. Felted Hat with Marcie Brooks Scheduled by Appointment - Minimum 2 Students Felting is fun and addicting. Custom design your hat with Marcie’s help or copy one of her distinctive styles. Students should be able to cast on, knit, purl and bind off. FEE: $45 for instruction only. Materials to be purchased day of class. Bring size US 10.5 needles if you already have them. Events Knit On! Slumber Party - Date and place TBD Reservations and payment are due on or before TBD. Cancellations on or after that date will be non-refundable as we must commit to the Moye Center two weeks prior to the event. Please note that alcohol is no longer permitted to be brought to the slumber party as per the rules of the center. Christmas Stocking Trunk Show Monday, October 15 to Monday, December 31st, 2012 Stop in to see the many beautiful finished Christmas stockings from Elegant Heirlooms, Googleheims and DooLallies. Order kits to make one for everyone in your family! We will be scheduling a class to learn the techniques needed to complete your stocking, so don’t be shy if you aren’t sure how to knit with colors!
